This client initially called New Age Contractors because there was a noticeable slope in her floors. Upon inspection, it was determined that most of her homes floor joist and one of the main girders were rotting and sagging due to excess moisture in the crawlspace. After ripping up the flooring, New Age Contractors also discovered that a vast majority of the subfloors needed to be replaced as well. Essentially the structure of the house was failing, and the customer hastily hired New Age Contractors to solve this issue.
Solution
Many things were done for this home; first, the crawlspace was completely cleared out, and all new ductwork and a brand new Ultra Aire Dehumidifier were installed. New Age Contractors then removed and replaced the damaged floor joist and center girder.
Next, New Age Contractors ripped up the existing subflooring and replaced it. After the structure was repaired in this home, New Age Contractors treated the joist, girders, and subflooring with an anti-microbial spray to prevent future rotting.
This crawlspace was then sealed with a 6mil clear plastic vapor barrier and a new sump pump system was integrated.
This homeowner can rest easy now knowing that her home is protected from future moisture damage for many years to come.
